My Final Thoughts

Graphic novels are a form of literature that has gained more and more popularity, especially through younger readers. Exploring different genres within graphic novels, like superheroes (Squirrel Girl), fantasy and action (Descender and Meteor Men), humor (Nimona and Adventure Time), cultural texts (The Faceless Ghost), historical (Drowned City), scientific (Human Body Theater and Last of the Sandwalkers), and romance (The Sculptor), this project was designed to celebrate and understand the diversity and importance of the graphic novel format. Each title was chosen because of their differences to each other either thematically, artistically, or age appropriateness. Despite their differences, each novel illustrates not only great literature with deep characters, meanings, themes, and purposes, but also the ultimate value and enjoyment graphic novels bring to the world of literature.

This project was so absolutely fun, I have never been more excited to read so many books! It was truly something I thoroughly enjoyed, and I cannot wait to read more graphic novels. I hope at least one of these reviews has encouraged a further look or read of its novel!
