Graphic Novel Project
- Maryjane Satrapi
"Graphic novels are not traditional literature, but that does not mean they are second-rate. Images are a way of writing. When you have the talent to be able to write and to draw, it seems a shame to choose one. I think it's better to do both."
Behind the Project
Since reading titles like Fun Home and The Watchmen, I've been fascinated with seeing how the graphic novel format can change a story, add to the narrative, and display a shared image between the author and the reader. By exploring some new and diverse titles within the Young Adult Graphic Novel genre, I hope to show readers the literary value and fun of reading such a creative format. On this site, I introduce some novels that I have researched and read, and each page is dedicated to one of those titles. There you can find some of my own reviews and some professional reviews, with the hope that they can showcase and promote that title.
My sincere goal is to give these titles the recognition they deserve, spark the interest within everyone who visits to read one or more of these titles, and to personally explore this amazing genre.
